Comparatives; er, and est

Without them I couldn't be better than you.

Suffixes are letters that can be added to the end of a word to form a new word. ER and EST are suffixes and are called Comparatives. We add these suffixes to the end of a descriptor when comparing two or more objects with the same descriptor, as in tall, taller, tallest; small, smaller, smallest.

Some quick examples:
  • Tall, taller, tallest;
  • Smart, smarter, smartest;
  • Thin, thinner, thinest;
  • Tiny, tinier, tiniest;
  • Bad, worse, worst;
  • Good, better, best.
